Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Seal Your App (“the Service”) provides installer generation and code signing services for compiled software binaries. The Service is operated by Discreet Signals LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”).

2. What We Do and Do Not Do

We package your compiled binaries into installers and, when requested, apply code signing to certify publisher identity. This is the full extent of our service.

We do not:

• Inspect, review, audit, or verify the content, functionality, or safety of your binaries or files
• Guarantee that your software will function correctly after installation
• Provide quality assurance, testing, or validation of your software
• Assert that sealed software is safe, secure, or free of defects

Code signing certifies publisher identity and tamper-evidence only. You are solely responsible for the content, functionality, and quality of your software. Any issues your end users experience with your installers or software are your responsibility.

3. Free Tier

Unsigned installer generation is provided free of charge. You may use the free tier to build, test, and iterate on your installers, subject to the fair use limits described below. Unsigned installers will trigger operating system security warnings when distributed to end users.

4. Fair Use & Rate Limits

To ensure service availability for all users, the Service enforces rate limits on all API and web requests. These limits apply to both free and paid usage:

• Build creation is limited to 30 builds per hour per account via the web, and 60 per hour via the API
• File signing requests are limited to 120 per hour per account
• Download URL generation is limited to 60 per hour per account
• Account registrations are limited to 10 per hour per IP address
• Publisher profiles are limited to 20 per account

Requests that exceed these limits will receive an HTTP 429 response. We may adjust these limits at any time to maintain service quality. Current limits are documented in our API documentation.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to circumvent rate limits or abuse the Service
• Upload content unrelated to legitimate software distribution
• Create accounts or resources in bulk for purposes other than legitimate software development
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts, builds, or data
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure

We reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate accounts engaged in abusive or prohibited behavior without prior notice.

6. Seal Tokens

Seal tokens are purchased to produce signed, production-ready installers. Each seal token is consumed when we successfully deliver a sealed installer. Seal tokens are non-refundable. Failed builds do not consume seal tokens.

7. Subscriptions

Subscription plans include a monthly allotment of included seals per billing cycle. Seals beyond the included allotment consume tokens from your balance. Included seals do not roll over between billing periods. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing period. You will not be charged for subsequent periods after cancellation. API keys are for your use only; sharing API keys or account credentials with third parties is prohibited and grounds for termination.

8. Refund Policy

All purchases are final. No refunds are issued for seal tokens or subscription payments under any circumstances.

You are encouraged to use the free tier to test your builds thoroughly before purchasing seal tokens or a subscription.

9. Your Responsibilities

You represent and warrant that:

• You have the legal right to distribute the software you upload
• Your software does not contain malware, viruses, or malicious code
• Your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws
• You will not use the Service to distribute software that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others

10. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to: lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, or any issues caused by your software after installation by end users.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, without prior notice. If we terminate your account, unused seal tokens are forfeited and no refund is issued.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
